Falconry experience

This session is aimed at people who'd love to know more about birds of prey. Our experience offers a lovely introduction to Falconry and a rare opportunity to see the birds up close. We can tailor experience to you, making the session more light hearted for those who simply want to engage with the birds, or more informative for a serious insight into the way hunting hawks are trained and exercised. Whatever your preference, this is a very hands-on activity and guests will be flying a variety of different birds of prey.

Clay pigeon shooting

A wonderful event for a stag or hen do or a family celebration. Our local shooting instructor can provide a shoot for groups up to 12, but the experience is available to individuals and couples, too. The clay shooting takes place on his farm, about 5-10 minutes from Lewtrenchard Manor.

Horse riding

Our close proximity to the wonderful and dramatic Dartmoor National Park offers fantastic horse riding experiences. Short and day-long hacks are available for both beginners and experienced riders at:

Fishing

The Arundell Arms in the village of Lifton, approximately five miles from the manor, owns 20 miles of private fishing rights on the river Tamar, and its tributaries. The estate offers a wide range of fishing courses and all tackle and wader hire is included. Our reception staff would be delighted to make a booking for you, or you are welcome to make your own arrangements directly with the Arundell Arms.

Cycling

The Camel Trail is an old railway line running from Wadebridge to Padstow. It’s a stunning five mile ride that follows the edge of the estuary right through to the pretty harbour at Padstow.

Bikes are available to hire at either end of the ride, and our reception team would be happy to make the necessary arrangements for you.
